Fund Raising

DIG is absolutely delighted to share that we have been successful in securing £200,000 from East Ayrshire Council's allocation of the UK government's Pride in Place impact fund (PiPIF).

East Ayrshire Council is one of just eight local authorities across Scotland to receive this capital funding which is to be used specifically to create, restore and enhance spaces of community value.

Thanks to this support, we hope to be able to replace the existing Sir Alexander Fleming Memorial in Hastings Square Darvel, creating a place that local people can be proud of now and for the years to come.

While the final cost of the memorial is still to be confirmed, if, as expected, it exceeds the PIPIF award, the project will be responsible for securing match funding to ensure final delivery.

We estimate we're going to need to raise around another £200,000.

To do this, we are reaching out to global pharmaceutical companies, local businesses and any individual who might wish to contribute.
